BB2K19 Discussion Thread

It's about time we started figuring out plans for Barn Bash this year.

I was thinking I'd offer to host here in Indy this year, since we haven't had a Barn Bash in Indy since I moved. If the weather is nice we have a big patio with an outdoor fireplace and a projector screen.

We don't have any spare bedrooms at the moment because Andrea's mom is staying with us for a few months, but we have plenty of space in the basement for air mattresses. The basement isn't finished, but there are a couple of couches down there and I would get some rugs and/or carpet remnants to make it more comfortable. I also have a tornado foosball table now that you guys could help break in.

Anyway, if anyone else wants to offer a more exotic or comfortable location I'm certainly open to other suggestions. I'll see about getting a doodle posted for availability.

I’m going to working Connecticut until mid Oct.
so I’m probably out, unless there would be any interest in doing it out here after mid-Aug.

My timeline for moving back to Asia is still unknown, but there's a chance I could join. We would like to have our support raised and have other things in order in time to move by the end of May, but honestly that doesn't seem too likely at this point. At the end of May Jenny will be at the limit for traveling while pregnant, so we would stay in order for the baby to be delivered here rather than in Asia.

All that to say is my ideal timeframe would probably be June or maybe early July. We've still got unknowns to work out, so if later in the summer works better for more people then that's what should be done.

Sorry I'm late to the posting party.

I won't be able to make it this year. While we don't have confirmation at the moment, the doctors suspect that Becky has Leukemia. Once we have confirmation of a specific subtype, she will be in chemotherapy for most of the summer.

Please finish off an inappropriate number of cold ones for me...

There's always potential for Barn Bash 2020 at the Beaches.*

I'll probably be out this year. Between work trips, personal trips, projects around the house, and Nolan's birthday my summer is jam packed.

So.....
Funny, I *just* remembered this morning how we hadn't figured this out yet. Seems like we've exhausted Rob's availability. Mike, Corah, and I have some dates.

Not sure what my availability will be in the next month or so; I might take a vacation in late July/early August, and my "new" job (since December, still at Amazon) is busier than my last, so I might be a bit less flexible than originally thought...

Starting to think maybe an impromptu 4-day weekend in Indiana might be possible for July 4th-7th though...

Might better to move the planning to messenger or something that more likely to be checked frequently.

Man I haven't been checking the forums at all. Is this year a bust or maybe later in the fall?
